Ile Des Chenes Minor Hockey Association

Become a Coach

We are always looking for enthusastic volunteers to help coach our teams. Under the guidance of Ile des Chenes Minor Hockey, our Coaches work with Assistant Coach(es), Manager, Safety and Parent Reps as well as IDCMHA Development Coordinators to provide learning and development to ALL players while maintaining the objective of a lifelong love of the game.

Hockey Manitoba is pleased to offer certification clinics, specialty clinics, and a mentorship program at no charge to the individual coach.  They are also proud to offer the lowest fees in Canada for coaches to enroll and complete Hockey University online coach training modules.

All coaches must achieve “Trained” status through Hockey Manitoba in order to remain eligible for the remainder of the season. Individuals must complete the online modules delivered through Hockey University then fully attend & participate at a virtual coach clinic to achieve “Trained” status (formerly referred as “certified”).

The course you require to be “Trained” in is specific to the level you’re currently coaching.  Each course stream of training is designed to cover the pertinent learning & skills content appropriate for the level of athlete which you’ll currently be coaching.

In addition to your appropriate course stream outlined below, all coaches also require the Respect In Sport (RIS) certification (online).
